Steps into Certification
Professional certification for educators, musicians spiritual formation leaders, youth directors and those with a passion for evangelism is a reflection of a desire to serve God and the church with excellence and integrity.

There are three separate entities that are responsible for various pieces of the certification process.
- GBHEM – General Board of Higher Education and Ministry
- GBHEM is the certification granting agency
- Set standards and requirements
- Texas Annual Conference Board of Ordained Ministry
- Conference Chair for Professional Certification
- Keeps a file on all persons in process
- Reporting agency
- Informs persons in process of current status
- Sets up back ground checks and psychological interviews
- Sets up Board of Ordained Ministry Interview
- Contact person for the annual conference
- Academic Setting
- Many academic settings for requirements
- Conference Chair can help with this information or others who have been through the certification process
